Adelaide to Perth departing 1 June 2017, 3 days/2 nights
Day 1 (Thursday, 1 June): Check in early at Adelaide Parklands Terminal and be whisked away to the nearby Adelaide Hills to discover the hidden gems of this food and wine region. Enjoy brunch and bubbles among the vines before setting off on a fun-filled afternoon of intimate gourmet tours and wine tastings. Your evening rounds out with a multi-course Hills feast in a truly picturesque setting. Transfer back to Adelaide in time to board the Indian Pacific that evening.
Day 2 (Friday, 2 June): Your onboard gourmet adventure launches with a series of interactive food and wine sessions with our guest foodies who will take you on a culinary journey as you cross the breadth of Australia in style. Step off the train at the remote Nullarbor siding of Rawlinna for your truly unique Outback evening experience.
Day 3 (Saturday, 3 June): Enjoy the pastoral views of the Avon Valley en route to Perth. Relax and indulge in a Western Australian inspired lunch on your last day onboard matched with iconic Margaret River wines. Arrive in Perth mid-afternoon. For the first time ever, Great Southern Rail is delighted to present two special gourmet departures aboard the Indian Pacific.
Perth to Adelaide departing 4 June 2017, 3 days/2 nights
Day 1 (Sunday, 4 June):Step onto the Indian Pacific this morning and prepare yourself for two days of gourmet flavours and insights! Throughout the day, join interactive sessions hosted by our guest foodies who will take you on a culinary journey as you cross the Nullarbor in style. Enjoy a Western Australian inspired feast on your first day onboard, hosted by local winemakers.
Day 2 (Monday, 5 June):Enjoy breakfast with a difference at the remote siding of Rawlinna before heading back onboard for another day of immersive food and wine experiences. As you approach South Australia, refine your tastebuds with a regionally-inspired winter menu paired with vivid Barossa reds.
Day 3 (Tuesday, 6 June):Disembark early from the Indian Pacific and head straight to Adelaide’s vibrant Central Markets for your hosted morning tour navigating the colour and buzz of one of Australia’s largest fresh food markets. Then it’s off to the stunning Barossa Valley wine region for lunch at the award-winning Hentley Farm restaurant. Tour some of the Barossa’s oldest and most prestigious wineries throughout the afternoon, sampling the finest wines that make this region one of the most highly acclaimed in the world.
